Paul Shaw is a lead economist in the World Bank Institute (WBI) and leader of WBI's Health and Population team. Before joining WBI, Mr. Shaw worked in 'operations' in the Bank's Africa region and was the lead author of a major Bank study and program of action called Better Health in Africa. Prior to joining the World Bank, Paul served as a senior economist in several international agencies including the ILO, FAO, and UNFPA, as a policy advisor for his government in Canada, and as a faculty member in universities. He is the author of eight books and more than 50 articles in professional journals on issues of human development.
